Effective September 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sagip collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Sagip emergency-response mobile app, the Sagip staff dashboard, and related services.

Last updated September 15, 2026

1. Introduction

Sagip ("we", "us", or "our") operates an emergency-response platform for users, responders, dispatchers, and support staff. We respect your privacy and handle personal information using reasonable privacy and security practices.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to information collected through the Sagip mobile app, the Sagip staff dashboard at this website, our backend services, in-app support channels, and related operational tools used to verify accounts, dispatch rescuers, and manage SOS requests. It does not cover third-party websites or services that we do not control.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the app or dashboard, and information from permitted device sensors and integrations.

Account details such as name, email address, mobile number, password credentials, area, gender, profile photo, and account status.

Verification documents such as valid IDs uploaded for user account review before SOS access.

Emergency activity such as SOS type, timestamps, incident photos, landmarks, addresses, coordinates, chat messages, and trip status (assigned, en route, arrived, completed).

Location information such as GPS coordinates used to place SOS, track rescuers during an active trip, and share live location with accepted connections.

Device and technical data such as device model, operating system, app version, Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, and IP address needed to operate and secure the service. Sagip does not use Crashlytics, Sentry, or another third-party crash-reporting SDK. The operating system or device may keep its own diagnostic logs outside this app. On Android, Firebase Analytics may record limited usage events; advertising ID collection is disabled.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to operate, secure, and improve the Sagip platform.

Create and manage your account, authenticate sign-in (including Google Sign-In), and keep your session secure.

Verify user identity before enabling SOS, and review, approve, or reject valid ID uploads.

Dispatch rescuers, show live maps, calculate routes, and confirm arrival or completion of an emergency request.

Share live or recent location with assigned rescuers, dispatchers, and accepted friends only as needed for safety and the active request.

Send service notifications, SOS alerts, trip updates, chat messages, and important account notices (including verification and ban decisions).

Detect fraud, abuse, false SOS reports, duplicate accounts, and unsafe activity.

Provide support, respond to help requests, and handle account deletion requests.

Analyze reliability and product usage to improve app quality.

Comply with applicable legal requirements and lawful requests.

5. Legal bases for processing

Depending on the activity, we process personal information based on one or more of the following:

Contractual necessity, to provide the emergency-response service you request.

Consent, where required for optional permissions, camera or gallery access, or specific uploads you choose to provide.

Legitimate interests, such as fraud prevention, emergency safety, service quality monitoring, and product improvement, balanced against your privacy rights.

Legal obligation, when retention or disclosure is required by law or court order.

Vital interests, when processing is necessary to protect life and safety during an emergency.

6. Location and device permissions

Sagip requests device permissions only for emergency response, account verification, and related safety features. You can change these in system Settings. Turning a permission off may disable the matching feature (for example SOS coordinates, offline SMS, or shake-to-open).

Location (when-in-use / foreground only): place SOS on the map, track an assigned rescuer during a trip, and share position with accepted connections. We do not request always-on background location.

Camera and photo library: capture or attach proof photos, a valid ID, a profile photo, completion reports, or chat images.

SMS, phone state, and phone calls (Android): send offline SOS texts, choose a SIM on dual-SIM devices, and place an emergency call when data is weak. Sagip does not read your SMS inbox or call history.

Notifications: SOS, assignment, trip, and account alerts, including Firebase Cloud Messaging. Advertising ID collection is disabled.

Display over other apps (Android): optional. Lets shake-to-open bring Sagip to the front when the app is in the background. It is not used to draw ads or overlay other apps.

Motion / accelerometer (Android): detect a shake for SOS. You can turn shake off in Profile.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

Assigned rescuers and dispatchers involved in your active or completed SOS, such as name, contact details, valid ID preview, incident proof, and live or recent location needed to complete the response.

Internal support staff who review verification documents, deletion requests, incident reports, or platform rules.

Accepted connections (friends) when you choose to share your live location with them.

Service providers that help us host infrastructure, deliver push notifications, provide maps and routing, authenticate users, store files, or operate support tools.

Other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect users, others, or our legal rights.

Business successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, subject to appropriate safeguards.

8. Third-party services

The app and dashboard may rely on third-party services such as Google Maps, Google Directions and Geocoding, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Sign-In, Better Auth, cloud hosting, and file storage. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies, in addition to the contractual safeguards we require where applicable.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal requirements, and maintain audit records. Emergency incident records in the request pool and history may be kept for operational, safety, and compliance purposes even after an account is deleted. Verification documents and support tickets may be kept for longer periods where required for fraud prevention or legitimate safety needs. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it using reasonable technical and organizational measures.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include access controls, encrypted transport where supported, authenticated APIs, and operational monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or request deletion of certain personal information, withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, and object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile information directly in the app. For other requests, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding and may decline requests that conflict with legal obligations or legitimate safety needs.

12. Account deletion

Users may request deletion of their account from Profile in the Sagip mobile app (Profile menu → Delete account). The Request account deletion page (`/request-account-deletion`) explains this process. Support staff reviews the request. You can keep using the app while the request is pending, and you may cancel a pending request in the app. If approved, we permanently delete your user account, sessions, and related login records. We may retain emergency incident records (or anonymized operational copies) where required for emergency safety, fraud investigations, or legal compliance. Deletion may be blocked while you have an active SOS. Rescuer and staff accounts are not deleted through this self-service flow.

13. Children

Sagip is intended for adults 18 years of age or older who can lawfully request emergency assistance and create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

14. International transfers

Our systems may process or store information in various regions and, where necessary to operate the service, in other countries through our infrastructure or service providers (for example maps, push notifications, or file storage). When information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data protection requirements.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or product features. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and provide notice in the app, on this website, or by other reasonable means. Continued use of Sagip after the updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the revised policy.

16. Contact us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal information, contact Sagip IT / Technical Support at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time in accordance with applicable law.
